Taste of NY to ease Calcutta heat
The “first mobile health juice bar” is here thanks to the city girl who brought with her the taste, health and natural goodness of downtown Manhattan to ease the summer heat in Kolkata.
Arundhuti Dutta, 28, would miss her regular “fruit smoothie with health boosters” so much after quitting her job at Deloitte as consultant, to return home, that she decided to not only make one for herself every morning but gift her city with the freshness recipe. Hence emerged the Juice Station, the mobile juice bar that offers high quality, preservative, additive and artificial coloring free fresh fruit juices, milkshakes and smoothies in a healthy and hygienic way.
The results? The city got so hooked to it that Ms. Dutta is planning to expand her small business in Salt Lake to “10 units in 900 days” along with mall kiosks and concept stores. “I looked around for freshly made healthy juices and shakes and couldn’t find any”, writes the New York University alumnus in her website while elaborating on the incidents that made The Juice Station a reality. The mobile kiosk, currently parked opposite the RDB Boulevard in Sector V, is already popular among the techie crowd with its “100 per cent natural fruit juices, smoothies and milk shakes made in front of the customer”.
The staff at The Juice Station provide nutritional information about each of the drinks and customers have a choice of customizing their beverages with soy protein, whey protein, organic wheatgrass or wholegrain flaxseed.
The rest of the city, however, still await the magical smoothies that act as ‘hangover helpers’. “We are still in the process of finding out what clicks and what needs to be changed,” said Arundhuti. Startupnews wishes Ms. Dutta all the luck and hopes that she soon succeeds in fetching her goodies to the entire city and hopefully to the whole country.
