Two Indian Startups get Global Recognition
BusinessWeek and market researcher YouNoodle have teamed up to identify 50 tech startups flying under the radar. The list includes fledgling tech companies — most started in 2005 and later—from the U.S., China, India, Israel, and Russia that are attracting some early buzz and are poised to grow beyond their regional or niche-market origins.
Two of the startups are from India – Komli Media and Ibibo.
Komli Media, India’s leading digital advertising and technology company. Komli was the first ad network platform in India to launch both performance and brand solutions, and developed India’s first online audience measurement and planning solution ViziSense. Several other digital solutions, developed in-house or introduced through partnerships – such as Search RePlay, Loanraja and TripRaja – for performance advertisers, and Vizu’s AdCatalyst and PointRoll rich media, both for brand advertisers have reinforced Komli’s position as the most innovative ad network platform in India.
ibibo.com is India’s first entertainment and talent based social network. It gives the youth of India a unique platform to showcase their talent, express themselves, create their own social network, audience and fan club and hence get recognition. The ibibo community is currently more than 3.3 million strong, making it the largest India based social networking site in the country. And most importantly, 59% of user base is from tier 2 and tier 3 cities and towns of India. In a short span of time, ibibo.com has also received its due recognition from different quarters of the industry. The company has become one of the fastest growing Internet based social media businesses in India.
The companies on the list are worth watching not only because of their market potential but also because their top-tier investors and experienced management teams that can make them significant players in their industries.
