Hi Priyanka,

I suggest you do the following:

1. Check status of your refund online at https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/refundstatuslogin.html

2. Speak to your Assessing officer on phone, In most cases he would be able to give exact status of refunds.( To find who; visit http://incometaxindia.gov.in/ao/Firstlevel.asp )

I have still not received the IT refund amount of 5000/- for the year 2007=08which I filed online in the year June 2008.

I filed my returns through Taxsmile for AY 2008 2009 and I shall not be filling with them again. I was to get a refund of a sizeable amount. The filing part was smooth but tracing the refund is impossible. The income Tax helpdesk numbers have no records showing up for my pan number! Imaging my surprise at that. I have a copy of the ITR-V. They said I should visit the IT office. Why allow people to file online when they have to visit the IT office??

At the time of filing I had the Branch Manager’s number (Gurgaon).Now their branch manager at has hanged. I have no way of tracing my refund. Who is responsible for making sure I get my return? No sense of responsibility in these guys, no follow through. Stay away from TAXSMILE.

If someone has a number for the Gurgaon cell please post it. I Would be really very grateful.
